🚦 Lights on. Fingers down.

Whoever touches first, talks first.

FirstWordRace turns "you choose, no you choose" into a five-second finger duel. Three amber lights, one green, and dinner finally gets decided.

Built for the standoff at the fridge door.

Every part of FirstWordRace exists to kill one very specific argument: the polite ping-pong of "I don't mind, really."

🚦

Real Start Lights

Three amber flashes, an unpredictable pause, then green — copied straight from the anxiety of a proper starting grid.

False Start Penalty

Lift before green and the light snaps red — the other side gets the opening word automatically. No arguing with the light.

Shuffled Answers

Both of you see the same question, but the answer order shuffles differently per side, so nobody's just copying a glance.

After every heat: who touched first, by how much, what each of you actually wanted, and whether the opening call stuck.

Your Own Decks

Ready-made decks for dinner, weekends, movie nights, coffee runs and short trips — or write your own recurring arguments.

🏆

Head-to-Head Scoreboard

A running tally, a lap chart of every heat, reaction spreads per person, and how often the first word becomes the plan.

We build the five seconds before the decision.

🏁We're a small crew obsessed with the tiny, dumb standoffs that eat up real minutes of real evenings — the "you pick" loop that somehow never actually picks anything. FirstWordRace started as a joke prototype for our own kitchen table and turned into the app we now can't cook dinner without.
🎯Our mission is simple: replace ten minutes of polite deflecting with five seconds of finger-on-glass tension. We're not trying to make decisions for you — we're just making sure someone has to commit to an opening move, on the record, before the debate even starts.
🎉What you get is a genuinely fun ritual — three lights, a shared question, shuffled answers, and a winner who has to speak first. Layer in ready-made decks, your own recurring arguments, and a scoreboard that remembers every heat, and choosing what's for dinner becomes something you actually look forward to.
💛It matters because the small friction points are the ones that pile up — and a quick laugh at the starting line beats a slow sigh over the menu every time. FirstWordRace exists so "whatever you want" never has to be the answer again.
Put your fingers down. Wait for green. Let the light decide who talks first.

Nothing leaves your phone. Ever.

FirstWordRace was built to run entirely on the device it's installed on — here's exactly what that means.

Effective Date: March 2026

FirstWordRace ("we," "us," "the app") is designed around one non-negotiable rule: your races, your questions, and your scoreboard belong to your device, and nowhere else. This policy explains, section by section, exactly how that works.

1Information We Collect

We collect none. FirstWordRace does not ask for your name, email, contacts, photos, location, or any account credential, and it never reads data from other apps on your device. There is no sign-up screen because there is nothing to sign up for.

2How We Use Information

Because nothing is collected, nothing is used, profiled, analyzed, or monetized. Your race times, custom decks, and head-to-head history are never processed by us — they simply exist on your phone for your own two players to see.

3Data Storage

Every question deck, custom argument, heat result, and scoreboard entry is stored locally on your device only, using standard on-device storage. There is no cloud sync, no backup server, and no account layer that could hold a copy elsewhere.

4Third-Party Services

FirstWordRace does not integrate third-party analytics kits, advertising networks, or tracking pixels of any kind. No usage statistics, crash logs, or device identifiers are transmitted off the app, because the app makes no network calls to begin with.

5Data Security

Since your race history never leaves your device, there is no transmission to intercept and no remote database to breach. Your information is only as exposed as your phone itself — protected by whatever lock screen or device-level security you already use.

6Children's Privacy

FirstWordRace is suitable for a general family audience and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13, because it does not collect information from any user at all. There are no forms, chats, or profiles for any age group to fill in.

7Your Control

There are no accounts to manage and nothing stored remotely to request deletion of. If you'd like to remove your decks, scoreboard, or race history, simply clear the app's data or uninstall FirstWordRace — that action erases everything, instantly and completely.

8Changes to This Policy

If our approach to data ever changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above before the change takes effect. Given the app's fully offline design, we don't expect that to happen — but we'll say so clearly here if it ever does.

9Contact
